At the time he committed to Cal, Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey defensive lineman Keith Browner said he still wanted to take a few official visits. The rush end took his first visit this past weekend to Colorado and will take one more trip this up coming weekend before solidifying his commitment to the Bears.
Browner, 6-4, 225 pounds announced for the Bears in mid-August after fielding offers from most of the Pac 10 along with Baylor, Colorado, Miami, Florida and Kansas State. He took a visit to Boulder this past weekend and enjoyed the visit.
"I had a good visit but Cal is still on top right now," Browner said. "Colorado was great though and it's a real, nice friendly environment. I got along really well with the players and coaches and there is a definite family feel to Colorado. The campus is beautiful and the game atmosphere was incredible. The team played really well and showed me a lot.
"My commitment to Cal is still firm though. The thing for me was I committed so early in the process, I just wanted to make sure of my decision and check out a few other schools. Just to be sure Cal was the best place for me. I talked to Cal about it and they were cool with that but I'm only taking one more visit. At first, I was going to take all five but I'm visiting Oregon next weekend and that will be it for me.
"I like Cal a lot but Colorado did give me a lot to think about. Right now, I just don't want to have any regrets later on down the line. Taking the visits is good for me and gives me a chance to see what else is out there but I am still committed to Cal, no doubt about that."
