One last visit for Lorig

It was less than a week ago when we caught up with Rolling Hills (Calif.) Peninsula tight end Erik Lorig and he said he was done taking visits and would be making his decision by Wednesday of this week. Well today is Wednesday but Lorig is not close to pulling the trigger just yet.
Lorig, 6-5, 250 pounds had home visits last week with USC, UCLA, Cal and Stanford and said he would be deciding by the middle of this week. Those plans have been changed and the athlete will take one last recruiting visit before he makes up his mind.

"I'm going to visit Notre Dame this weekend," Lorig said. "I didn't think I was going to take the visit but Coach Weis is a tough guy to say no to. He convinced me to take a look so my family and I will be going out there this weekend. Coach will be on campus since they (N.E Patriots) have a bye this weekend before the Super Bowl.
"Right now, I'm still just taking everything in and I still don't know where I'm going. I know signing day is coming up here so I'll have to decide pretty quickly after I get home. I'm just processing information on all the schools and still trying to figure out where I should go. All five are in it and I had good home visits with each of them. It's still a toss up right now."
The feeling we've had was this would come down to a USC- Cal battle but we continue to hear that Stanford is very much in the race as well and has as good a shot as anyone. With Signing Day just a week away, we'll all find out soon enough.
