The hard work the Michigan staff has been putting into the Southeast is already paying dividends, as class of 2018 Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson offensive lineman Jalil Irvin made his pledge to the Wolverines official on Friday morning.

Irvin attended Thursday's camp as a spectator, but didn't work out and wasn't allowed to interact with the Michigan coaches face to face. He did however call the coaches shortly after the event to inform them he would be joining the fold.

Irvin said he's a "soft commit" and will still be taking other visits, but couldn't pass up the chance to play for his "dream school" any longer.

"I committed to Michigan because it's a dream school and it's where I've always wanted to be," Irvin said. "[Michigan head coach Jim] Harbaugh it bringing the swagger back to Michigan. It's great."

Following Thursday's camp, Harbaugh raved about the talent level in the Southeast and said there's a reason why he and his staff are on the road evaluating talent.

"There's no doubt that this is as well as I've seen guys work and as good as I've seen them work at such a high level," Harbaugh. "It was outstanding and it was very impressive."
