Once a Hurricane always a Hurricane

Once a Hurricane always a Hurricane. That’s the story for Ft. Bend Hightower Hurricane three-star offensive tackle Tyrone Byrd.
Byrd had camped at Miami and had waited forever for a scholarship offer from the Canes. Along the way, he landed offers from Colorado, Iowa, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, UCLA and many others.

But just yesterday, he got the news he was waiting for.
“The offer came and I committed on the spot,” Byrd, who is 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, “You can’t do better than Miami. I knew when I was there for the camp that was the place I wanted to be at.”
And he got his wish.
“I’m very excited, and so is everybody in my family,” Byrd, ranked as the nation’s No. 23 offensive tackle, said. “This is a good fit for me and everybody around here is very proud of me. I’m still kind of in awe.”
