Seasons at Cal: 3

Record at Cal: 14-23

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 27

“Most of the stuff we talk about is what they do on campus at Cal and what I want to do with my degree and stuff like that. That’s really all we talk about. It’s less football and more of that.”-- Three-star wide receiver Alex Cook

“He’s a business type of coach. He wants to talk about football and break down specifically what he likes about how I play. There’s no laughing. It’s a serious demeanor.”-- Four-star ATH Jaylon Redd

TODD GRAHAM | ARIZONA STATE

Seasons at ASU: 4

Record at ASU: 34-19

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 32

“I feel like Todd Graham is a head coach that engages. Todd Graham and Jim Mora, for example, are like that. They like recruiting. I feel like they are the ones that actually like it. They also run their systems the way they want to run them. They play a huge role. A lot of other guys aren’t as involved. Graham is the kind of guy you can sit with and talk. He’s a open guy. I like him.”-- Four-star Nebraska signee Lamar Jackson (2016)

“He’s serious, straightforward and honest. I’ve only met him once, but he struck me as a little more serious (than Oregon’s Mark Helfrich).”-- Rivals250 quarterback Ryan Kelley

“He's one of the coolest people I met in this process. He’s straightforward with me, too. He tells me about the roster and the depth. He tells me mostly about the team and football. He gets to the point.”-- Rivals100 cornerback Thomas Graham

MARK HELFRICH | OREGON

Seasons at Oregon: 3

Record at Oregon: 33-8

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 28

“I was in the weight room and he walked by me telling me he could out-lift me. Then he told me that he could definitely lift like me and look like me if he was 20 years younger.”-- Rivals250 wide receiver Bryan Thompson

“He’s laid back and easy to talk to. He’s actually pretty outgoing and funny. You wouldn’t guess that, but he is.”-- Rivals250 quarterback Ryan Kelley

CLAY HELTON | USC

Seasons at USC: (10 total games)

Record at USC: 6-4

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 8

“Helton is real energetic. He comes at you with some energy. He’s just energetic and lots of fun. He’s interested in my day and stuff that isn’t about only football.”-- Class of 2018 ATH Jaiden Woodbey

“He’s more of an intense coach. He has a nice personality and it was nice meeting him, but he’s intense. I’m building a great relationship with him because he’s pretty easy to talk to. He talks about how life is and all that.”-- 2018 linebacker Raymond Scott

“He’s very serious. He lets you know that he’s coming after you and not telling you anything false. He tells me to call him every single week and that USC is my home. He tells me that even if I decide not to go there that I will always be welcome at USC. That’s very welcoming.”-- Rivals100 wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey

“He’s a cool guy. I knew him when he was a coordinator and have talked to him a few times since he became head coach. He hasn’t changed too much. He’s maybe just a little different because he has to take care of the program and lead it that way, but he’s been the same with me.”-- Rivals250 quarterback Braxton Burmeister

JIM MORA | UCLA

Seasons at UCLA: 4

Record at UCLA: 37-16

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 11

“Mora is hella cool. I didn’t even expect it. We were talking about, like, football in general. He knows so many people. He started naming all the players he knows. He took out his phone and said ‘I’ll call anyone right now.’ He was showing Adrian Peterson, Marshall Faulk … He said he has 16 Hall of Famers. He has hella people’s numbers. He told me somebody he knew was in the same car as Tupac when he got shot. He was serious and it sounded like it was real. I was, like, ‘what?’”-- Five-star running back Najee Harris

“I think he’s just a good coach and an overall good guy. I think he truly cares about his players and will defend them. He’s laid back. He’s obviously still a football coach and has some intensity to him, though.”-- Rivals250 tight end Jimmy Jaggers

“I pictured him being super serious until I met him. He’s not serious at all. He talks to me like he talks to one of his friends. I mean, there are serious times, but that’s not who he is. He’s funny.”-- Four-star ATH Jaylon Redd

CHRIS PETERSEN | WASHINGTON

Seasons at UW: 2

Record at UW: 15-12

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 38

“He’s awesome. He’s a great guy – a standup guy. He always tells me the truth. I like him and appreciate him. He always just tells me I’m their guy. He’s straightforward. He sends letters to me and even to my parents.”-- Rivals250 quarterback Braxton Burmeister

“His reputation of what he’s done in the past makes you believe him when he tells you he’s going to get Washington to where they want it to be. I feel like he’s one of the most genuine recruiters. He tells me things that I actually believe. That’s not always the case with everyone. I have talked to a couple of guys that go there and say he lives the things he talks about … I actually just had a conversation with him where he was on a Stairmaster. He was breathing heavy and trying to talk to me at the same time.”-- Rivals250 tight end Jimmy Jaggers

“He thinks he’s pretty good at Pop-a-Shot. He keeps talking about playing me, but I’m pretty good too. We’re supposed to play when I get back up there in the spring.”-- Rivals250 cornerback Keith Taylor

RICH RODRIGUEZ | ARIZONA

Seasons at Arizona: 4

Record at Arizona: 33-20

2016 RECRUITING RANKING: 51

“He’s cool. I like him a lot. He’s a little different. He gets intense at practice, but manages to be relaxed off the field. I talk to him mostly about football. He is all about football.-- Rivals250 quarterback Braxton Burmeister

“He’s just kind of relaxed, honestly. He doesn’t stay on top of you or stay bugging you all the time. When he talks, it’s powerful.”-- Four-star Nebraska signee Lamar Jackson (2016)

OTHERS

“It’s definitely a different perspective with him. He’s a quarterback-centric coach. He wants to use the quarterback in any way he can … He talks to me about surfing. He surfs when he comes to SoCal. He tells me he can get up, but not much else yet.”-- Three-star quarterback Chase Garbers on Washington State head coach Mike Leach

“Coach Wittingham has jokes. He cracks jokes about my sister being faster than me. She runs track in college, so he keeps telling me she’s faster than me. It’s not true.”-- Rivals100 cornerback Thomas Graham on Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham

“I would definitely say if there’s one way to describe Coach Shaw is that he’s a Stanford grad. I mean, you can tell. He’s a Stanford guy. He’s everything you would expect from a Stanford guy. I guess that’s the best way I could describe him”-- Rivals250 tight end Jimmy Jaggers on Stanford head coach David Shaw

“He’s laid back. He’s a cool guy. He shows a lot of love. He tells me that he’s going to be personally recruiting me from here on out.”-- 2018 linebacker Raymond Scott on Oregon State head coach Gary Anderson
