Omameh still getting good looks

Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis DeSales defensive end Patrick Omameh was one of the most impressive looking players to show up at the Rivals.com Junior Day at Akron, and the 6-foot-4, 236-pounder has definitely been a hot target with the college coaches.
"I'm hearing the most from Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Duke, Miami University and Purdue," Omameh, who has a 4.0 grade-point average and a 28 on the ACT, said.
"I've talked to some coaches but they said they would have to check with the head coach before offering. Indiana was at my school a few days ago. Eastern Michigan, Miami and Northwestern coaches were all at my school today. I do have an offer from Miami, but that's it."
Omameh said he's got a few things in mind that the perfect school will have.
"It's about the setting of the school," he said. "I don't really want to be in the middle of nowhere. I don't mind going far away, though. I'm being recruited as defensive end or offensive tackle. Really I like both of them, but if I had to choose I would say defensive end."
Omameh has big goals for his senior season, but he also knows he needs to get better to achieve them.
"I hope that we can win state this year and beat our rival," he said. "Individually I just want to help the team out however I can. I don't really care what position I'm at. I need to improve on getting extension while I'm blocking, but I have long arms so as a defender it's easier for me to extend away from the blocker."
