Olson set for first official visit

Former BYU quarterback Ben Olson, back from his two year Mormon mission, was supposed to visit Oregon this weekend but that trip has been re-scheduled for December. The talented signal caller will check out another Pac 10 this weekend however.
“I’m going to Arizona State this weekend,” Olson said. “The Oregon visit will be (Dec. 3) now and I’m also going to visit Cal (Nov 19) when they play Stanford. I'm also thinking about setting a visit to Michigan. LSU and Miami are still there and I could also visit UCLA officially if I need to but I’ll be down there a lot because it’s so close to home. I’m taking an unofficial visit there later today actually to meet and talk with coaches.

“I still haven’t heard from USC but do have some interest there. Right now, I’m just going to really take my time and wait the process out. I’m sure there could be some possible coaching changes and I want to leave room for new schools to emerge if that does take place. I rushed things the first time, I’m not going to do that this time. I feel like I’m in a great position where I can just sit back and really make a well thought out decision, probably sometime in late December.”
Olson, 6-5, 235 pounds said he has been working out hard with a personal trainer since he returned from Canada and is in very good shape right now. His arm feels good and he thinks he’ll be back to his old self in no time although he said his ideal situation would be to play as a backup his first year and learn the system and then start his next year.
