Rivals250 offensive tackle Eric Olsen out of Brooklyn (N.Y.) Poly Prep has narrowed his list of favorites to five. Who has made the cut for the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder?
"I've narrowed it down to Notre Dame, Miami, Boston College, Maryland and Virginia," he said. "All five of them have everything I'm looking for in terms of the environment, coaches and more. Those schools ultimately have what I want out of a school."
Olsen went on to talk about one of his favorites, Boston College.
"The city of Boston is awesome and their whole environment is great," he said. "It is offensive linemen university there and the things they do coming out of there is impressive. The coaches have done a great job with the team and they have a player I know from last year, so if I go there I know someone already."
The four-star prospect has not scheduled any official visits with any of the teams yet.
"I'll probably be doing that in the next couple of days for sometime after the season," he said. "I have no opportunity to take them during because I play on Saturdays."
Olsen has kept a close eye on a few of the teams that are in his top five this season.
"I've been impressed with all of them and their play so far," he said. "Notre Dame lost a heartbreaker last week and Boston College played really well against Florida State, especially their offensive linemen did. I'm watching the line for all these teams to see their style and how they are coached."
The No. 22 offensive tackle in the country may have cut his list to five, but a few other schools are on the outside looking in.
"Others that could fall into my top five include North Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee and Michigan if they offer," he said. "Right now, I'd like to take visits to my favorites since I've seen them unofficially already."
This season Olsen and Poly Prep have started off the season 1-1.
"Last week we did really well and the line played great as we won," he said. "This season I've been playing really well and I'm happy with my performance. I've been working to push myself to be in the best condition possible and playing both ways is tough, but I want to give all to the team."
