Ole Miss targeting JUCO safety

When Brooklyn (N.Y.) ASA College defensive tackle Gilbert Pena takes an official visit to Ole Miss the first weekend in December he will be accompanied by teammate and safety Ivan Nicholas.
Nicholas, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound safety, holds offers from Ole Miss and North Carolina, like Pena.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, visiting the South will not be a new experience for Nicholas. He's looking forward to his trip to Ole Miss as the first major milestone in the recruiting process this year.
"The two of us are going to be going down there for the December 4 trip," Nicholas said on Friday evening. "I was talking about looking into visiting some other (schools) but it's not definite so I don't want to talk about it yet."
Nicholas claims offers from Ole Miss and North Carolina. When asked whether he would like to visit Chapel Hill he said, "I wouldn't mind taking that trip."
Pena spoke very highly of his trip to UNC when Rivals.com caught up with him a while back, and he has spoken highly of North Carolina to Nicholas as well.
"He told me how it went and it sounded pretty good," he said.
The Rebels and Tar Heels aren't alone in taking a look at Nicholas.
"I actually got a phone call from Florida," he said. "They told me they were going to touch bases with me. That had to be around two weeks ago."
Nicholas went on to say he does not have any favorites at the moment.
"Not yet. I don't have any favorites," he said. "I'm gonna try to keep it open. I'm looking for my visit to be good at Ole Miss and hopefully I can find something that fits me best."
