Ole Miss offers Florida wide receiver

West Virginia was the first offer in for Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast wide receiver Kenneth Myers. Recently, Myers added another high profile name to his offer list when he spoke to Ole Miss wide receivers coach Ron Dickerson. Last Thursday, Dickerson faxed over an official offer to Myers, giving him an exciting close to his week.
"I was excited," he said about learning of the offer. "He told me that they were looking at me. We've been talking and he liked my film and then he said he was going to offer me. It's a real great program. The SEC has a lot of competition. I'm ready for it. It's a great school."

Myers knows a little bit about the Ole Miss program based on seeing them play. What he does know, he likes.
"I know that name and it's the SEC," he said. "I've watched them when they're on TV. They utilize their wide receivers so I'm excited about that."
Myers has been communicating with Ole Miss recently so the offer wasn't a complete surprise. Other schools that he's been communicating with are Vanderbilt and UCF, two more schools that could be next up with offers.
"I've been talking to Vanderbilt and the wide receiver coach says that he likes what I do on the field and my grades and the classes I'm in," he said. "They're real big on academics and I'm real big on it."
As for UCF, Myers was able to attend their junior day and see the UCF campus. He hopes to get to a few more campuses this spring and summer.
"I plan on visiting Ole Miss and West Virginia," he said. "Vanderbilt if possible and I'm probably going to go down to UCF because they're doing this 7on7 tournament down there and I'll probably go up to Florida State too."
At this point, Myers has a few specific factors he's focused on in deciding on a program.
"Academics and the background and history of the school are important," he said. "And a big point is the wide receiver coach. I want to have a good connection on and off the field."
