Ole Miss latest to offer Charlton

Recently-minted Rivals250 defensive end Taco Charlton has been adding offers since early in his junior year. The Pickerington (Ohio) Central prospect just picked up his 11th offer of the process from an SEC school.
"I got an Ole Miss offer just recently," Charlton said. "That was the first time I had really talked with them, so that was really a surprise."

The 6-6, 240-pound Charlton learned about his offer from the Rebels during a conversation with defensive line coach Chris Kiffin.
"He was just saying they are not really going to recruit that many players from outside Mississippi, but they really like me a lot, think I could be a great defensive end and help them win ball games," Charlton said.
Charlton starts in the post for a 15-2 Pickerington Central basketball team, and is averaging close to eight points and 10 rebounds a game. His basketball schedule has made it difficult for him to attend junior days this winter, though, and he does not have any on the schedule in the short term, but could make some visits in the spring.
"I think I am going out to California for spring break," Charlton said. "I've got an offer from UCLA, so it would be fun to maybe go visit them."
With 11 offers in hand, Charlton still plans to wait at least until after his basketball season is complete to start identifying favorites. Michigan, Nebraska and Notre Dame are three schools Charlton mentioned he is already building strong vibes with.
"Those are schools I have a good relationship with and I definitely want to go visit all three of those places again and see talk with their coaching staffs more," he said.
Although the process started early for Charlton, the four-star prospect is in no rush to finish out his recruitment.
"I think I am going to take some official visits first just to see how everything is," Charlton said. "Before I go somewhere I want to make sure that is the place and not doubt it."
