Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have added another playmaker to its 2024 recruiting class. This time, four-star Picayune (Miss.) Memorial running back Chris Davis made the call.
Auburn and Florida State were also heavily in the mix for Davis in his recruitment. Arkansas, Stanford, and Texas A&M were among the other programs that offered the Mississippi native.
Davis is a speedy back that excels with the ball in his hands. He has proven to be one of the most dangerous weapons in the state and also shines on the defensive side of the ball in the secondary.

IN HIS OWN WORDS
Why he chose Ole Miss: “The vibes, the place, the people, it’s home,” Davis told Rivals.com about his decision. “(I’m) blessed to be where I am today. Without the man above, I’m nothing.
“But overall, the way (Ole Miss) kept it real from the jump. They’ve been there since day one, been showing love. Why not put on for my home state? No better place to be.”

WHAT THIS MEANS
Davis is the third member of a loaded 2024 cycle inside the state of Mississippi to commit to Ole Miss. He joins three-star wide receiver Jeremy Scott and three-star linebacker Fred Clark in the early stages.
Kiffin and the Rebels’ staff have smartly made the state a priority this class, and the early returns are more than positive. Additionally, the Rebels have a commitment from four-star Arizona quarterback Demond Williams.

RIVALS REACTS
Chris Davis features game-changing talent from the running back position. While sharing a backfield with four-star Oregon signee Dante Dowdell, Davis rushed for more than 1k yards and 15 touchdowns.
Next season, he will have the opportunity to be the lead back for a highly successful program in the Magnolia State. On the next level, his speed will immediately provide the Rebels’ offense with a boost in the ground game in addition to his ability to be a factor as a receiver and returner.
Davis is ranked as the No. 12 player in Mississippi and No. 21 running back by Rivals.
