The original plan was to sign in February and take official visits next month, but that has been scrapped and Jalen Cunnigham has signed with Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-4, 335 pound lineman out of Odenville (Ala.) St. Clair County started feeling this move last week at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game. He was around numerous Ole Miss commits, the Rebels were already high on his list and it hit him that there was no reason to wait.
"Being around a lot of guys at the all-star game that will be my teammates and just talking with them really made me see I was ready to decide," said Cunningham. "I was really just ready to get this whole recruiting process done with and I knew Ole Miss was the school."
The four-star has visited Oxford three different times and he loves the environment there. That was one of the keys to his decision.
"The main reasons I committed to Ole Miss was the coaching staff, my relationship with the whole 2018 recruiting class and the atmosphere."
Cunnigham could project as a defensive or offensive lineman on the next level.
