Ole Miss commit will take visits

Marrero (La.) John Ehret defensive tackle Drake Nevis enjoyed a great day at the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp on April 30 and the Ole Miss commit has since seen his stock soar. He has picked up several new scholarship offers and now says he will take some trips and check out other programs.
"I've picked up a few more scholarship offers since the NIKE Camp," he said. "Nebraska, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Alabama, Florida, Auburn and Texas A&M all have come through with offers.

"LSU is talking to me about an offer."
The 6-foot-1, 287-pounder committed to Ole Miss on Feb. 25 and while that commitment still stands, he says he is going to weigh his options before making that decision a final one.
"I am still going to take my visits and I am still open (to doing that)," Nevis said. "I'm am interested in visited some schools in the SEC and in Florida. I am most interested in Florida and the SEC schools."
Nevis added that it will be some time before he makes a final decision on his college destination.
"I am going to be patient," he said. "I am going to weigh out all of my options and make the best decision."
Frank Wilson is the recruiter of record for Ole Miss. Buddy Wyatt is recruiting for Alabama, Greg Knox for Auburn, Joe Pannunzio for Miami (Fla.) and Jay Norvell for Nebraska.
Before his showing at the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp, Nevis held only the scholarship offer from the Rebels, but he won the camp MVP with an outstanding showing in all areas. He ran a 4.87 40-yard dash and bench pressed 185 pounds 31 times.
"The one-on-one drills and the 40 time helped," Nevis said. "I have always had my strength, but now I proved I was fast with my 40 time.
"I was proud of my 40 time."
Nevis had 80 tackles and eight sacks in 2005.
