OLB Mayberry adds two more offers
Darien (Ill.) Hinsdale South linebacker prospect Matt Mayberry (6-foot-2, 192 pounds) added his second scholarship offer last last week, when the Indiana Hoosiers offered Mayberry. Indiana is also Mayberry's first Big Ten scholarship offer so far this summer.
"Yeah, I had a great end of the week last week," Mayberry said. "I found out on Thursday that Northwestern has offered me a scholarship. Then on Friday I also added an offer from Oklahoma State."

Mayberry, who played fullback in his 2004 junior season, has raised his recruiting stock with several impressive camp and combine performances. Mayberry talks about adding his latest offers from the Wildcats and the Cowboys.
"I camped at a one-day camp earlier this summer at Northwestern. I'm already pretty familiar with the school and the program, and I felt pretty good about my camp performance. The coaches at Northwestern told me after the camp that they still needed to check some academics things but that they were really interested in me. I received an email from the Northwestern coaches on Thursday morning, and I called the coaches later in the day and they confirmed the offer. I received the scholarship paperwork in the mail last Friday."
"Northwestern definitely has a lot to offer. From just an academics standpoint alone, Northwestern is really impressive. The Wildcats play in the Big 10 conference and they have also been pretty competitive. Northwestern also has a very nice campus and very good facilities. The coaches are also really great guys at Northwestern."
Mayberry admits that his Friday offer from Oklahoma State was a bit of a surprise.
"Yeah, I was a little surprised that the Cowboys decided to offer me but it's exciting as well. I received a call from the Oklahoma State coaches in May and we had a good talk, but I really didn't hear much else from them. I received an email from the Oklahoma State coaches on Friday morning, so I called the coaches offices and spoke with head coach Mike Gundy. Coach Gundy had some really great things to say about me and he also mentioned that they saw me perform at a camp earlier this summer. Coach Gundy said I should receive the scholarship paperwork early this week."
"I know that Oklahoma State plays in the Big 12 conference, and the Big 12 is just a great football conference. I also liked talking with Coach Gundy and he seems like a goo guy to play for in college. I need to look into what Oklahoma State has to offer both academically as well as the football program. I'm going to try to make an unofficial visit later this summer."
Mayberry basically has been all smiles this summer with his recent rash of interest and scholarship offers.
"It's been great so far this summer. I just wanted to get my name out there and tried to get some notice, and to have four offers at this point is just great. My family and I are really excited right now."
Mayberry is also looking to hit a few more camps this summer.
"I'm heading to Wisconsin on Monday for a one-day camp. I'm also going to try and get to Western Michigan later this week for a one-day camp. After those camps I'm done with the college camps for the summer."
Does Mayberry have any early leaders?
"I would say that for now the four schools that have offered me (Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern and Oklahoma State) along with Wisconsin are my early leaders. I want to check out these schools over the next few months, and I'm hoping to make my final college choice before the start of my senior season."
