OLB Green talks weekend visits

North Chicago (Ill.) junior outside linebacker prospect Kevin Green (6-foot-2, 213 pounds) is coming off a very busy weekend, which included Green taking his first crack at the ACT test as well as making unofficial visits to Northwestern and Purdue.
"I had a really busy weekend," Green said. "On Friday I checked out a spring practice at Northwestern, then on Saturday I took the ACT test, and finally on Sunday I saw a spring scrimmage at Purdue."

Green, who has early offers from Purdue and Bowling Green talked about his impressions of the Northwestern Wildcats practice on Friday.
"I had a chance to watch a Northwestern practice on Friday. I've been to Northwestern for various events quite a bit, so I'm really familiar with the facilities and the campus. I liked watching the practice, everything was really fast paced and it was also pretty intense. Northwestern definitely tries to get in as much work as possible at practice. I had a chance to talk with head coach Randy Walker. He was really fired up, yet he is also a really cool guy that you can joke around with and who is also a very motivational speaker all at the same time. I also enjoyed talking with Pat Fitzgerald, who's the linebackers coach at Northwestern. He's a really intense guy who I liked watching coach the linebackers."
Green also enjoyed his visit to the Boilermakers scrimmage on Sunday.
"It was my first visit ever to Purdue on Sunday, and I really enjoyed my visit. Purdue had a really good and hard hitting scrimmage. I had a chance to talk with and meet the coaches as well as a few players like Kyle Williams. I liked the fact that the coaches at Purdue do more teaching and less yelling in the scrimmage. The coaches seem to want to spend their time doing more teaching than just riding the players all the time. I had a nice talk with head coach Joe Tiller and my recruiting coach Mark Hagen. I also had a chance to check out some of the facilities, and the stadium and the indoor facility are great. I'm definitely going to give Purdue a lot of serious consideration."
Green is also planning to make at least one more spring event over the next few weeks.
"I'm looking at going to either the Notre Dame or the Illinois spring game on April 23rd."
