OL Wilkes recaps Wake Forest trip

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep offensive guard Khalil Wilkes took a cross country trip to Stanford two weeks ago and had positive things to say about the experience.
The 6-foot-3, 285 pound prospect followed that trip up with an unofficial visit to Wake Forest. Did he enjoy that visit as well?

"It went great," he said. "You know, Wake Forest is one of my top four schools. It was really great to see the whole campus.
"I got to meet with Coach Grobe, which was probably the highlight of the whole trip. I think the ACC had a convention for the coaches but he made time to talk to me before he went. That meant a lot to me.
"He talked about how they would use me at Wake and where their program is going. The main thing I like about them is that they have good academics and a good football program. They're in the top 25 this year and one of the best teams in the ACC."
Wilkes' four favorites are Wake Forest, Stanford, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. He said those schools are even at this point.
How would he compare the trips to Stanford and Wake Forest?
"I don't think you can compare them to each other," he explained. "Both were great trips. One thing I would say they have in common is they have great academics. I could see myself playing and living at either place for four years. Both were great."
Wilkes said he will discuss official visits with his parents in the coming weeks.
