One of the top offensive guards in the country has set up his first two official visits and will set up the last three before the end of the month.
6-foot-4, 290-pound Dan Mazan of Carteret, N.J. will be heading out to Oregon the weekend of Oct. 18 for his first official and to Penn State on Dec. 13.
“I’m going to Oregon this weekend for an official. They play Arizona State so it should be a great game.”
Mazan is also very interested in Ohio State, UCLA and Florida State for his last three officials although he’s not counting out Nebraska, Virginia Tech or Wisconsin.
Dan seems to be spreading his wings a bit during the recruiting process. He likes something different about each school.
“Oregon seems like they have a lot to offer. I need to see it for myself. They have a good team. Penn State produces quality players every year and they play in the Big Ten, that’s attractive to me. They have great academics and I like the coaches. Hey, it’s Penn State."
"Florida State gives you a chance to compete for the national championship every year, what more can I say.”
And what about the rest?
“Ohio State reminds me a lot of Penn State. They play in the Big Ten and they play a power football game, I like that. As far as UCLA goes, they have a great program with a lot of tradition. I also have some family out there. I’m still interested in Nebraska, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, so I’m not sure about my last three visits.”
