OL says hello and goodbye to coach

Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley West offensive tackle Kurt Mattes had an interesting official visit to Pitt this weekend. He got to say hello and goodbye to Pitt head coach Walt Harris.
"Coach Harris explained the situation today and told us he was heading to Stanford," said the 6-foot-6, 265-pounder. "It was kind of odd because I really liked Pitt and he was a big part of it. I guess I just wait and see who the next coach is now."

Mattes was hosted on his visit by Mike McGlynn and got to meet more players than he had in previous trips. Other than that he said the visit was similar.
"I've been there so much there wasn't really anything new," he said. "But it was still a good trip."
Mattes still lists Pitt and Northwestern as his leaders. He is also considering UConn, Syracuse and Indiana, although he hasn't set any visits yet.
"Coach Freeman from Pitt is coming in this week, so maybe I'll know more then," he said. "A couple of coaches from Northwestern will likely be in as well. Those are my top two and I'll just wait and see what happens with Pitt."
