Richardson talked in detail about his official visit to Iowa.
"My player host was David Walker, who an offensive guard for the Hawkeyes, and we got along really well all weekend long. Friday we had dinner at the basketball arena as well as getting a chance to watch the basketball game in Friday night. The fan support was just crazy at the basketball game and several fans stopped by and said hello. We also had a chance to hang out with the players on Friday night and we played Madden on Playstation. I did Ok but I lost to (David) Walker."
"Saturday was a lot of tours as well as academic meetings, then we also went to the team banquet on Saturday night. I really had a good time all weekend long with the other recruits as well as with the team and the coaches. Saturday night was also just a great time for me. Sunday we had breakfast at Coach (Kirk) Ferentz's house with the rest of the recruits and the parents and that was a really nice to wrap up my official visit."
Richardson also talked about what stood out to him this weekend at Iowa.
"Definitely the ovation that Coach Ferentz received at the baseketball game on Friday night was really impressive. You know that the fans are really behind him at Iowa. I also came away impressed with the overall vibe from the players and the coaches. They really get along really well and you can sense that it's not fake or put on. They really gel together very well on and off the field."
"I would rate my overall visit to Iowa on a scale of 1 to 10 as a definite 10 overall. It was just a very, very good visit."
So did Richardson make a verbal commitment this weekend?
"No, I didn't make any verbal commitments yet. I'm still planning to wait until the All American Bowl in January to announce my decision.
Richardson will now head to California next weekend to spend the holidays with his extended family.
"I'm going to be in California for a few days, and I'm going to try and check out USC unofficially while I'm out there. I'm going to give my college options some serious thought while I'm in California, and I'll decide then if I'm going to take any additional visits."
