OL Richardson looks back at May

Wheaton, Ill., offensive tackle prospect Dace Richardson (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) has ended the May evaluation period with yet another scholarship offer, giving Richardson well over 20 scholarship offers so far this spring.
“On Friday I received an offer from the University of Arizona," Dace Richardson said. “I know that Mike Stoops is the head coach at Arizona and that he was a part of the Oklahoma staff with his brother. It's great to be able to draw offers and recruiting interest from the Pac-10. I'm going to do some research on the Wildcats and I want to see what they have to offer very shortly."

Richardson looked back at his May evaluation period. "I guess that my only expectations going into May was that I hoped to impress a few colleges. I had no thoughts about getting any early offers, I just wanted to hopefully get my name out there. If I got one or two early offers, that would have been great."
Did things ever get crazy during May for Richardson? "Crazy? No, things didn't get crazy at all, but a few times it was hectic, especially with the phone calls. A few times I wasn't able to get to my dinner because I would get several calls back to back, and you know me, I don't like missing dinner too often."
"I'm basically thrilled about all of the options that I have in front of me. I couldn't have predicted all of these offers and interest, overall it's been really flattering and great as well. When you think about it, it was really a trip to be talking on the phone with college coaches that you seen on TV on Saturday's."
Yet Richardson knows that things will definitely pick up again starting in September. "I'm really thinking about not picking up the phone in September at all. I'm really going to focus on my senior year once school is over with next week, and I'm going to try to make sure that the calls and the recruiting stuff doesn't interfere with school or my senior season."
Look for Dace Richardson to begin to make several unofficial visits this summer, starting as early as next week. "I was thinking of starting to hit the road in early June, as soon as school is over with. I'm still working things out with my Dad, but I'll have a good idea pretty soon about where I'm going to visit this summer."
