Damian Prince is widely believed to be one of the nation's best prospects among all sophomores in the Class of 2014 and his early offer list is evidence of that.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle from Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara is up to 11 verbal offers and that list includes Florida State, Michigan and several other big-name programs from BCS conferences.
So far the only school Prince has visited is Maryland and you can bet the Terps will be trying to keep Prince at home.
"I was at Maryland a few weeks ago for the UVa-Maryland basketball game," he said.
"It was good. There was a lot of stuff I liked about it. The hospitality from the coaching staff was really good and I thought that was nice. I really liked the way the coaching staff was good to me."
Next up is a trip to North Carolina in April. Prince says no one is standing out just yet.
"No, I don't have any favorites. I like all of my schools right about now. They're pretty much even," he insisted.
"I'm looking for someplace where I can play early as a freshman. I want a great coaching staff that shows me hospitality and I'd like to go someplace with good academics and great facilities. I'm just looking for that place where I get that home feeling, whether that's in my home area or some place in California. That doesn't matter."
Florida State and Michigan are two out of state programs that are making Prince a priority and they have his attention.
"I really haven't been in touch with Florida State but my coaches have. I really like Florida State. I've been liking them for the past five or six years. I'm hoping to get down there over the summer because I'm sure it's beautiful down there in Tallahassee.
"From Michigan I've been talking to Coach (Darrell) Funk and Coach (Curt) Mallory. They produce some really, really good offensive linemen that end up doing good in the NFL, like Jake Long."
