OL Pipho lands a Pac-10 offer

Laporte City, Iowa, three-star ranked offensive line prospect Matt Pipho (6-foot-7, 255 pounds) has added his third scholarship offer this week.

“I received a call late last week from Oregon," he said. “I talked with the coaches for about 45 minutes, and just before we ended our conversation, the coaches offered me a scholarship."

Pipho talked about his latest offer from the Ducks.

"I'm excited about getting an offer from Oregon. They sort of came out of nowhere to be honest. I had maybe one call from them before last week, but the coaches said that they were really impressed with my early senior tape. I've heard some great things about the campus as well as the facilities at Oregon. The stadium also looks great on TV. I'm going to do some serious research on the Ducks, and I'm going to take an official visit there."

Pipho is planning to officially visit three schools.

"I'm planning to take visits to Stanford, Iowa State and Oregon. I'm just not sure yet of any dates because I'm still trying to work things out with my basketball coach as to when I can take those visits and not interfere with my basketball season."

Pipho was also in the crowd of the Ohio State-Iowa game last Saturday in Iowa City.

"I had a really good time at the game at Iowa. I was able to talk with the coaches before and after the game. I also did all of the pre-game stuff. The coaches at Iowa have been really straight with me in my recruiting, which I appreciate. They are still interested in me, but they also told me that they have offers out right now to some other linemen."
