Honors: All-state
Statistics: Burgess on the year graded out at around 90 percent. His bench press is at 260 pounds, and he can squat over 400 pounds.
Favorite schools: Wake Forest, Virginia, South Carolina, Clemson, Duke, Tennessee
Skinny: Burgess is an excellent run blocker and he states that the contact is his favorite part of the game.
“I run and pass block well. I didn’t give up any sacks but we hardly ever pass the ball, which I like because that means I get to hit somebody on every play. Speed, strength, and knowledge of the game are always something I can work on and get better at.”
Burgess does not have any official offers at this time, and is wide open on his college choice.
“They are all pretty even right now. I am highly interested in all of them. All of them are good academic schools and have good football programs. I plan on majoring in business or engineering.”
Burgess had a chance to take in junior days at Wake Forest and South Carolina.
“They were both nice. I loved the food mostly, but getting to meet the coaches and some of the other top players was also real nice. I was most impressed with getting to see the school at Wake Forest. It was so nice, I really liked that.”
Keith Henry for Wake Forest, Lewis Clyburn for Duke, and Chris Cosh for South Carolina are his recruiting coaches.
Burgess plans to attend one-day camps at South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Wake Forest, North Carolina and Virginia.
