OL Landri is a wanted man

When you talk about some of the top offensive guards in the nation, one of the first a names to come up almost every time is Concord (Calif.) De La Salle’s Derek Landri. And, his impressive offer sheet is certainly a good place to start proving his ability.
“I am not sure how many I have, but I know most of them,” he said. “Washington, Washington St., Oregon, California, USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona St., Notre Dame, Nebraska, Clemson, and Miami have all offered me.”

And those offers are well supported by his physical capabilities. Landri is 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds. He has times of 4.87 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 4.13 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle. And, to top it off with 30 reps at 185 pounds on the bench-press the numbers do not lie.
Landri is a dominant lineman – both an offensive guard and a defensive tackle.
The real question mark at this point is what school will be able to have the honor of hosting his talents?
“Well, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Clemson, USC and California are really recruiting me the hardest at this point,” he said.
“But, I am pretty open to the process. Basically all the schools that have offered me scholarships are on my list.”
If his junior year was any indication of his next season. Another word will need to be used rather than dominant. On defense, Landri totaled 82 tackles, 17 sacks and 15 pass deflections. What do those numbers equal in the honor side of the game?
“I received all-league, all-city, all-state and junior all-American selections in my junior year,” he said.
There is no mistaking Landri is a top talent and one that every school in the nation is talking about.
The sweepstakes is just beginning so stay tuned.
