OL gets big offer today

One of the top offensive line prospects from the state of Florida is Andrew Carter. Carter, 6-5 and 270 pounds, plays on both sides of the ball for Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon High School. Today, he received a big SEC offer.
"Arkansas offered me about an hour ago," Carter said. "I like them and plan on going to Arkansas sometime this summer. That makes eight offers for me. Florida State, Miami, Central Florida, South Florida, Louisville and East Carolina are my other offers. I think Alabama may offer me next week. In fact, I had quite a few schools that came by this week that said they may offer me next week. I never thought things would turn out this way. I mean it's schools from all over. What a great feeling."

Carter bench presses 295, squats 510 and power cleans 300. He realizes that he has pros and cons to his game and he is working hard on everything.
"It was a good off-season. We worked out hard three times a week and I worked on everything. We run a spread and I think I am a pretty good pass protector. I don't give up many sacks. I am not a finesse guy. I am the type that will come up and hit you in the mouth. I need to work on my steps in run blocking and just better technique overall. I also need to work on my upper body strength."
With recruiting and the scholarship offer picking up Carter wants to take a wait and see approach. In fact, he wants to visit all the schools that make him an offer.
"I want to see everyone that has offered and my plan is to commit during the first part of the season. So far I have seen South Carolina, FSU, UCF, Auburn and Georgia. I am planning to see Miami, South Florida, Arkansas, and Louisville sometime this summer and before I make my decision. I am looking for great chemistry with the coaches and go to a winning program."
Many outsiders think the Seminoles would have the edge with Carter. But at this time he claims he's interest in Florida State is like all the others.
"Some people don't realize that I moved to Tallahassee about six years ago from New Hampshire. I like FSU but I like all these other schools too."
