OL Gee looks ahead to visits

Offer No. 4 has come in for offensive guard Alex Gee. The Burlington (N.C.) Walter Williams School lineman discussed that and his status with a variety of other schools at this time.
"I picked up an offer from Richmond that I'm pretty excited about," he said. "William & Mary said they don't offer juniors until they play their senior season, but told me I'm their No. 1 linemen on the board and they will probably offer at some point."

Meanwhile, after camping at bigger schools this summer, what's his status there?
"Virginia Tech said they are looking for tackles right now, but I'm still in contact with them, NC State said the same," he said. "Because I'm not 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5 that puts me a little bit below other guys. All both of them want to do is see senior film. If I go out and have a good senior year, hopefully maybe an opportunity to play at a school like that will come."
According to Gee, both schools are still interested.
"They still want me to come down and see a game and if I have a good year I could be in position to earn an offer."
Gee plans to visit a few other schools this fall too.
"I plan on going in terms of officials probably Richmond, William & Mary, Furman definitely and probably Ball State," he said. "With Elon so close being in my backyard I'll probably go there whenever I can."
Recruiting is taking a back seat for Gee as he prepares for the season.
"We started early on Saturday morning and that was our first official practice," he said. "It went well. We had a new coach and you never know what to expect. We had a really, really good practice and I felt good.
"Coming in the expectations are always to go win a state championship. It would be a great way to go out and individually I would like to make all-state and play in the Shrine Bowl. My main goal is a state championship though, that's what I want more than anything."
