Offensive lineman Brandon Floyd out of Charlotte (N.C.) South Mecklenburg claims one offer to date. The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder has other interest coming in, what's the latest?
"I have one offer from East Carolina," he said. "I want to say I received it around the beginning of February.
"I'm kind of sitting on the offer now. This Saturday is actually my first visit up there and I want to see the coaching staff, meet the offensive line coach. We keep in touch a lot and I really like those guys."
Many other colleges are interested too.
"Wake Forest is very interested in me," he said. "I actually went up there on Saturday and they talked about offering me. They just want me to come to camp first."
Floyd plans to take more visits this week aside from East Carolina including Tennessee and North Carolina-Greensboro.
He noted that Duke and Alabama are also interested.
Do any schools stand out?
"I really like Wake Forest," he said. "I think it's the academic thing with them and then I like East Carolina too.
"Basically, I just want somewhere that feels like I'm at home. I want to make sure they have my major; I want to be an athletic coordinator or director. I also want to make sure the program fits with me, we go hand in hand."
Floyd is coming off a strong junior season and he emphasized what stands out about his ability.
"People that recruit me say I have extremely long arms," he said. "I come off the ball with a punch and that helps me out, extremely with my height and weight. I can definitely more for a lineman and I can move my feet. I have good agility and my strength sticks out as well."
