OL Ferguson Narrows It Down

D’Brickashaw Ferguson has been talking to numerous schools since September 1st but thinks he has things narrowed down a bit. Ferguson, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive guard and defensive end considers his top choices at this point to be Syracuse, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. He has received scholarship offers from all of these schools.
Ferguson has likely attracted so much attention due to his speed as well as his size and strength. He can bench press 350 pounds and squat an amazing 730 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds. Last season, he had four sacks as a defensive end and allowed none as offensive tackle. Academically, he has earned a solid B+ average and plans to take the SAT this fall.

Ferguson has scheduled an official visit at Virginia in December but can’t remember the date.
“I have already attended a Syracuse game. I’m hoping to attend a Penn State and a Virginia game down the road,” Ferguson noted.
When asked if any coaches have stood out, Ferguson remarked, “the lineman coach at Syracuse is a good coach – coach (Jerry) Azzinaro.”
Ferguson has been busy talking to coaches and said they were all impressive.
“When we talk, they try to get a feel of my interest level and what I want to pursue after college. They want to get an idea of where my head is at.”
With lots of coaches waiting on Ferguson’s decision, it appears they will just have to wait a few more months, as Ferguson likely will not make a decision until after the football season.
“I’d like to focus on the season right now. I’d rather deal with the college stuff after I’m done,” remarked Ferguson.
