OL Doering draws more offers

Barrington, Ill. five star ranked offensive tackle prospect Dan Doering (6-foot-6, 290 pounds) spent last week in Canada on vacation, and Doering also returned from his week-long and discovered that he had two additional scholarship offers waiting for him.
"My trip to Canada was just outstanding," Dan Doering said. "When I got back, I received scholarship offers from Miami (Fla.) and Kansas in the mail. I think I have 30 scholarship offers now, and it's still just amazing to me."

Doering talked about his recent Canada trip as well as his upcoming summer plans.
"The weather in Canada was good, and we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves. We had no cell phones, no computers and no phone calls to deal with at all. I basically just hung out, slept, did some fishing and ate. We also played poker quite a bit, and it was just a great time. I really needed to get away, and now I'm ready to get going with my team camp."
"I'm pretty sure that I'm done taking unofficial visits, and I want to focus on my team the rest of the summer. I'm still planning to take official visits this winter to Iowa, Notre Dame and Nebraska and basically everything else for now is the same recruiting-wise."
Doering also is looking forward to his senior season.
"I just can't wait to get things going. I know that as a team we are really starting to zero in on getting ready for the season, and we are having a good summer so far as a team. I think that our offense is way ahead of where we were at this time last year. You can just feel how in sync everyone is at this point on the offensive side of the ball, and we have also done well in passing 7 on 7's. The defense has a lot of younger kids, but they have really stepped up and we're playing well defensively this summer."
