Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder offensive guard John Anevski is one of his city's top prospects and he has now narrowed his focus to three schools.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman currently holds offers from Miami-OH, Louisville, Army, Bowling Green, Air Force, Buffalo and Ohio. Who is still in the mix for the three-star prospect?
"I've pretty much narrowed it down to Miami of Ohio, Louisville and Vanderbilt," Anevski said. "They've been calling pretty much weekly and I'm interested in them. Vanderbilt hasn't offered yet but the other two have.
"With Miami, I'm actually about to go to their game against Temple. I just like how the school is close to home. Overall it seems like I could fit there pretty well. I like the atmosphere and the coaches. Everyone makes you feel comfortable.
"Louisville is on the rise and they're in the Big East. It's another place that's close to home. Like Miami, I definitely feel like I could step in and compete for playing time early. That's what they've said.
"Vanderbilt has just always been a school I've been looking at since my brother was recruited by them. I've liked what they've had going on. If they offer I'll definitely consider them.
"Right now I'm still open to new things, but I'd say those three are pretty even at the top. I'd like to make my decision in the next couple of weeks. I just have to talk it over with my family and make a decision."
Anevski has helped Elder to a 6-1 start on the season. How does he thinks things have gone?
"The season has been going really well," he reported. "We just won the GCL last night and I think we're ranked number one in the city. So far, so good. As a team we've played great. Everybody's staying on track so it's all been good."
Anevski is rated the No. 60 offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com.
