Okun headed north for trip

Zach Okun is headed to Berkeley on Friday to get a closer look at the Cal program and there is serious interest in the Golden Bears.
The 2015 offensive guard from Newbury Park, Calif., has already been offered by Cal along with a handful of others and Okun said he's highly anticipating the trip and getting to know the coaching staff better.

"I'm just going to head up there and see what's going on up there," Okun said.
"I've talked with them and I really like the new coaches, they're really good coaches, and that's one of the reasons why I want to go up there. They seem really positive."
It has been an exciting off-season for Okun, who looked good at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Chicago and already has an impressive group of offers.
So far, Okun has been offered by Arizona, Cal, Kansas State, UCLA and Washington. The 2015 prospect seriously considered an early commitment to the Bruins but he's decided to hold off and go through the recruiting process this year and next.
Okun said many other programs have reached out recently including Miami and the Newbury Park recruit said he definitely wants to hear more from the Hurricanes.
Numerous teams have gotten involved and Okun should find out soon whether new offers are close.
"I haven't gotten any new offers but I'm talking to some others for sure including Miami," Okun said. "My coach has been talking to a few new schools and I've been getting a lot more attention."
