Okpokowuruk names top four

Chattanooga (Tenn.) McCallie weakside defensive end/tight end Ayanga Okpokowuruk has been a hard prospect to catch up with thus far during the recruiting process, but he is one of the top prospects in Tennessee and has the offers to prove it.
“I have about 12 offers right now, but I haven’t picked up any recently,” Okpokowuruk said. “One school that has not offered, but has been showing me a lot of interest lately is Virginia. There are some other schools that are starting to show some interest too.”

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Okpokowuruk runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, has a 320-pound bench press and a 34-inch vertical jump.
“Right now I would say the top four schools on my list are Duke, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee,” Okpokowuruk said. “I don’t have a concrete list or anything right now though, these are the ones that will probably get official visits, but I am still open to everyone.”
Okpokowuruk is ranked as the No. 18 weakside defensive end in the country and the No. 6 player in the state of Tennessee.
“I really don’t want to go too far from home,” Okpokowuruk said. “I grew up a big Stanford fan and I would love to go there, but I think it is just too far from home for me. I want to play for a school that will allow me to maximize my potential as a player.
I also want to make sure that I get a kid education. I really do not want to go to a smaller school. I had the chance to visit Wake Forest and it was a nice school, but it is just not for me. I want to live in a town that has a good social life.”
