OKorn throws at FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star quarterback John O'Korn threw at the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp on Thursday morning with hopes of earning an offer from the Seminoles. After the conclusion of the morning session, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller spent some time with Dameyune Craig, Florida State's quarterbacks coach.
"I had a long talk with Coach (Dameyune) Craig," O'Korn said. "He said that he was very impressed with all of my mechanics and that I was very smooth and polished."
Craig paid the South Florida signal-caller a major compliment.
"He also told me that out of all of the quarterbacks he's recruited since he got to FSU, I am in the top five," O'Korn said.
While O'Korn had a good showing and heard high praise from the coaching staff, an offer wasn't yet extended.
"He said I am their number one guy right now," O'Korn said. "They are going to wait to see what happens with the Jameis Winston situation before they offer a 2013 quarterback."
O'Korn, who currently has offers from Houston, North Carolina, South Florida, and UCF, will visit Houston and South Florida next week followed by a trip to Wisconsin the following week. Schools such as Auburn, Connecticut, Florida, Memphis, and Tennessee are also interested in him visiting and throwing for them in-person over the next month.
