Tulsa (Okla.) Washington wide receiver Robert Meachem spent last week at Kansas State’s football camp. How did things go?
“I had a good time,” Meachem said. “I got up there and we got to going on things from the beginning. We worked on things during the day and then we had the 7-on-7 games. Those were the best part.”
What made those games stick out for the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Meachem?
“I really stood out during the 7-on-7 games,” Meachem said. “I was able to get out on the field and show my skills as a receiver.”
After the camp, Meachem did not have a top five to name, but did have some schools he was keeping his eye on.
“I don’t have a top five or anything to list,” Meachem said. “Nothing really has changed. It is really the same schools, I guess. K-State, Oklahoma and the others that we’ve talked about in the past.”
Those other schools include Florida, Miami, Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech and Kansas.
Last month Meachem did attend the first session of the Oklahoma camp, but elected not to work out at the camp.
Meachem’s summer camp schedule is over for the gridiron, but the basketball court is going to get the guard’s talents.
“I’m going to the Nike Basketball Camp in July up in Indianapolis. I like playing basketball too, but it is not really a sport that I am being recruited for.”
