Oklahoma TE picks Big 12

Most observers of football in Oklahoma are calling this the best year in the past 10 years, and it's players like Bryan Webb of Tecumseh, Okla., that prove that point quite well.
Webb's name hadn't been mentioned a ton when talking about the top players in the state, but on Tuesday he picked up an offer to play in the Big 12.

It was an offer he didn't take long to accept.
"Bryan has committed to Missouri," Tecumseh coach Greg George said.
"He called them on Monday to talk about the offer and then he talked to Dave Christensen on Tuesday and made it official."
George said Webb had recently become a hot commodity.
"I started to mail out a lot of tape the past few weeks and people like Colorado State and Kansas were very interested in him," George said.
"Then Missouri came at him really hard, and he decided to take their offer."
Webb might be a sleeper at this point, but he's hardly a diamond in the rough, his coach said. After making only three catches as a sophomore, he improved as a junior with a season that saw him reel in 28 catches for 329 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion.
With his size and frame, it would not also be out of the question that he could move to offensive tackle, especially with the way Missouri uses its tight ends.
"He's a big kid that can really run," George said. "He moves really well and runs well for a big man. He's a guy that'll time in the 4.9 range. He's a great kid off the field, and is a real leader. He's the type of player you want in your program.
"He's the starting center for our basketball team. He's a real do it all type of kid. We've never had any problems with him. He works hard and is tremendous."
George said Missouri assistant Dave Christensen was pleased with the news of the commitment.
"He was very excited," George said. "We are, too."
