Oklahoma State lands 3-star

Katy (Texas) Morton Ranch quarterback Joe Mitchell had a breakout season in 2008 and was rewarded with a handful of Division I offers. He took an offer from a Big 12 school and verbally committed Monday.
"I am going to Oklahoma State," he said. "I'm really excited about it. I talked with my dad and my coaches and we feel like it's a great fit. I have family in Oklahoma and everyone I ask say it's a great place. They also have a good engineering department and that is very important to me."

Mitchell threw for 1,019 yards and rushed for 1,200 this season, as well as scoring 20 touchdowns.
"I knew I could be a Division I athlete but it was this new coaching staff that really got the ball rolling," he said. "They jumped in here and evaluated everybody. The instilled a work ethic and attitude that wasn't around here before. They really did a good job of showcasing me."
