Oklahoma QB has options

Nathan Stanley of Teresita (Okla.) Sequoyah-Tahlequah is one of the top quarterbacks in the Heartland. The 6-foot-5, 195-pounderalready has a few offers on his resume and he's been getting quite a bit of interest throughout the spring.
"The last couple months a lot of coaches have used their one call to speak with me," he said. "New Mexico has been contacting me a lot. Kansas has been in contact with me, then Tulsa and Kansas State but they have been in contact with me for a while.

"New Mexico said they need to see me come throw at their camp. They said there's a good chance that they're going to offer me. They just need to see me in action. Kansas said the same thing pretty much. I already had offers from Kansas State, Northwestern and Oklahoma State."
Stanley, who threw for 2,300 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2006, is going to try to hit a few camps this summer.
"I know for certain we're going to Purdue," he said. "That's the only one I know we're going to for sure, but we're going to a few other ones too."
So does Stanley have an early leader? And what are his plans for making a decision?
"I plan on committing by the end of the summer," he said. "I like Kansas State a lot. I like Oklahoma State. I really like OU. I've been there on a lot of junior visits. I've been there for a lot of spring practices. But they haven't really offered. I'm still kind of waiting on an offer from them.
"I grew up both a Sooner and a Cowboy fan."
Stanley has big goals for 2007.
"We start against Granville, Ark.," he said. "We played them last year. It was the first time we played them and we beat them 49 to 36. It was a pretty exciting game. We're looking good. We've got a lot coming back but not a whole lot of depth. We've got a lot of guys going both ways.
"For next season I want to work on my size and my strength. I'd like to get to around 210 or 215. I'm about 195 right now."
