Oklahoma making Rivals100 KY DB Devito Tisdale a priority

Over the years there haven't been too many times where the head coach of a Big 12 program has come through Bowling Green, Ky. to visit a prospect but that's exactly what happened last month when Lincoln Riley made it to town to check in on Rivals100 defensive back Devito Tisdale. The Sooners have been near the top of Tisdale's list for months, but after primary recruiter Kerry Cooks went to Texas Tech, Tisdale lost his point of contact. Riley's trip to Kentucky showed that's no longer an issue and that he will remain a top priority going forward. So where do things stand with the Sooners and other schools? Rivals caught up with Tisdale to talk recruiting.

"I like Oklahoma a lot and and I have a few boys up there. I'm good friends with Woodi Washington and he's going there and I know Bookie [Brendan Radley-Hiles] and a few other guys. I wanted to get out there for a game but it didn't line up with our schedule so the last time I visited was in the summer. I'm planning on taking an official visit there for sure."

On Cooks leaving: "When Coach Cooks left I wasn't sure how it was going to go but Coach Riley let me know that they still like me a lot and they are going to stay on me. He came by my school and even though we can't really talk at school it still meant a lot to me and showed me how much they care. They're still on my mind. They're championship contenders every year and I feel like they can get me to the league."

Other schools in the mix for official visits: "LSU, Alabama, Clemson and I don't know about that last one. Probably Penn State. Texas A&M is coming on me strong, too. Coach Elko texted me and they are recruiting me hard now."
