Oklahoma LB facing tough pick

Recruiting season is not always a fun time for the recruits. It’s a decision that ill impact the rest of a recruit’s life is not all fun and games. In the case of Lorenzo Williams of Midwest City, Okla., the strenuous decision may cast its dark cloud over the holiday season as well.

“It’s not a fun time,” Williams said. “It is a very tough decision. I’m having a tough time making up my mind. I thought it would be easy, but it hasn’t turned out that way. I have visits to Missouri (12/13) and Oklahoma State (12/7) set up, and I am talking to Tulsa about December 20. I hope I can make a decision over the Christmas holiday.”
But then again, he might not.
“I might take a visit to Stanford in January, but I still need to do a little better on my SAT score, and my mother hates the idea of me going that far from home,” he said.
Williams has already completed one official visit when he visited Kansas on November 22.
“I had a great time,” Williams said. “I got to meet the players, and we went bowling. I beat all the other recruits and the coaching staff bowling. I rolled a 154. The food was top notch. I know it might not be that way once you go to school there, but it’s still fun to get those good meals.”
While recruiting is a very hard process, don’t expect it to whip Williams, who is 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds. Williams has the tenacity to come up with a good decision, and little setbacks won’t stop him.
“I’m the type of guy that if you put something in front pf me, a challenge, I will beat it,” he said.
Williams is ranked as the No. 9 player in the state of Oklahoma.
