Oklahoma DT makes pick

Defensive tackle Blake Smith (6-4, 240, 4.60) from Tulsa (Okla.) Union didn’t take his scheduled trip to K State is out of town preparing for their bowl game this weekend and because he committed to Sonny Lubick and the Colorado State Rams.
Smith thought that Colorado State was the best fit for him and it also helped that he likes their defensive style. He also liked the players on the Rams, the team in general and the coaching staff.

The Rams received a great player in Smith. He was selected State Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after racking up 86 tackles and ten sacks.
What makes his defensive POY selection even more impressive is the fact that Smith missed three games his senior season.
Smith was also interested in UCLA but Colorado State was running out of scholies and he wanted to take advantage of the few remaining rides the Rams had to offer.
“Why shouldn’t I commit to the Rams,” Smith said. “I like them and they like me.”
Colorado State gets real good with the committal of Blake Smith.
