Oklahoma DT doing his homework

Nowata, Okla. defensive tackle Ben Mitchell is busy researching the schools he is interested in.
"I've been getting lots of letters," Mitchell said. "But I'm not in a hurry to select a school."

The 6-foot-6, 273-pounder plays both ways for Nowata, but isn't limiting himself until he reaches college.
"I can play either offense or defense," Mitchell said. "“I’m probably more natural at offensive tackle but I like defense better."
While he is receiving mail from schools all over the midwest, most of the schools he has interest in are in the immediate region.
“I’ve gotten letters from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, SMU, Kansas State, Nebraska, and some others," Mitchell said. "I’ve talked to Oklahoma on the phone recently."
Mitchell is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but he is eager for the summer camps to get here.
"I'm going to Oklahoma's camp. Maybe an offer will come when I'm there. I'm sure they'll come. I'm not too worried about it."
“I don’t really have a preference right now. I’ll base my decision more on academics. I want to play football, but I’m really considering Tulsa for the education.”
