Oklahoma CB taking it easy

Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe cornerback Reggie Smith is taking things in stride in recruiting while he helps his team continue their winning ways.
“Things are going pretty good,” the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Smith said. I’m just taking it in stride. I want to get the season done and then I will focus on recruiting. It will be there.”

Smith’s laid back approach hasn’t kept the coaches from calling.
“I get a few every week,” he said. “All of the schools that I list all the time are the schools that call. If I name them, I’ll forget someone and then they’ll get upset or something.”
Smith did take in the Red River Shootout over the weekend.
“I was in Dallas for the game this weekend between Oklahoma and Texas,” he said. “I had a good time and talked to a lot of other recruits when I was there. It was a good game to watch.”
Smith hasn’t lined up any visits at this point.
“I’m trying to set up some visits, but I don’t have any yet. I might try to take one sometime during the season, but if I don’t, I’ll get them all after we’re done this fall.”
On the season, Smith has helped lead Santa Fe to a 5-1 record.
“I’m doing pretty well. I am playing both ways now. I want to go on defense in college, but if offense works out, then that is fine with me.”
