Oklahoma CB in solid standing

Enid, Okla., cornerback Keeven Moore has put himself in position to become one of the state of Oklahoma’s top prospects with a solid junior season and an impressive academic standing.

Moore, who is 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, was impressive enough on film evaluation to be ranked as the No. 14 player in the state by Rivals100.com. And he’s receiving the type of attention you would expect from a player ranked that high.
“I’ve already gotten calls from Northwestern, SMU, Missouri and Oklahoma State,” Moore, who has a 4.4-second time in the 40-yard dash to go along with his 3.2 grade-point average and 22 on the ACT.
“They describe what their college is like and talk about how good they are. The coach from Northwestern was really nice. He gave me a real warm welcome. I could talk to him for hours.”
And many coaches will try.
Moore, who rushed for around 700 yards as a junior, is the type of two-way player you want on your squad. Even though he projects as a cornerback, Moore always seems to be making the big play on both sides of the ball.
“Teams are going to key on me,” Moore said. “But coach always looks to me when we need a big play. I just find a way to get the ball and do good things.
“I also love playing defensive back. I can come up there and free shots on guys. I think I can get through blocks well and tee off on guys.”
Moore said at this point he’s pretty open with the recruiting process and there has only been one surprise so far.
“I’m a little surprised that I’ve not gotten a call from OU,” he said. “I’ve been up there three times already for a game, spring game and for junior day. The coaches told me they liked me a lot and would be interested in recruiting me. I guess we’ll just have to see.”
Moore will spend most of his summer camping with his team. He will attend a one-day K-State camp in Wichita, but is also planning on making it to Chicago for a Northwestern camp session.
