Bobby Okereke said he knew sometime in the middle of last month that Stanford was the right place for him.
On Twitter Saturday, the Tustin (Calif.) Foothill three-star prospect made it official by committing to the Cardinal.

"I'd say probably around mid-July I knew Stanford was the school for me," Okereke said. "It's probably one of the best combinations of athletics and academics across the country. Coach (David) Shaw is a great coach, (associate head ) coach (Derek) Mason is a great coach and so is (linebackers) coach (David) Kotulski. I just felt really comfortable with those guys."
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect shined on both sides of the ball and at multiple positions in his junior season, but Okereke said Stanford is mainly recruiting him to play inside linebacker.
That could change, though, once Okereke gets to campus because he said the coaches want to try him out in various areas to see where he could be most beneficial.
In his junior season, the Tustin Foothill standout excelled mainly at tight end and linebacker, but he has an array of talents that could get him on the field early.
"It will be defense primarily," Okereke said. "That's what I worked mostly at the camp but coach said I could be playing a multitude of positions so we'll see when I get there."
Okereke also had offers from Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Harvard, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn, San Diego State, San Jose State, USC, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
