Okam keeping a close eye on schools

Lake Highlands, Texas defensive tackle Franklin Okam has just one official visit set, but he's keeping a close eye on several teams.
"The only visit I have set is the one to Oklahoma," the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Okam said. "I've got plenty of other schools talking to me about visiting. But, right now, I don’t have any others set."
Okam has spent time watching the play along the defensive lines of the schools on his list.
"I have been watching a lot of football," the five-star rated Okam said. "I really focus on the defensive line and see who is playing for teams. I'm trying to watch to see who really has depth and a rotation at those spots. I can look at a depth chart, but it really matters who is getting on the field."
No one team has really stood out for Okam.
"I have seen a lot of times where a team has two or three guys in the mix. Those look like places I could go in and play. I'm not really favoring anyone. I just want to look at the schools and find the best place after I've checked them out."
On Okam's list are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Notre Dame and Stanford.
"There are several schools I'm looking at. I'm pretty sure I'll end up staying in the Big 12. Some of the best football is played here. I want to play against the best and try to become the best player I can."
