Okam hoping to take in OU and OSU

Lake Highlands, Texas defensive tackle Franklin Okam has taken in two schools this summer via camps and hopes to get to a couple more on unofficial visits.

"I camped at Texas and Texas A&M," the 6-foot-5, 295 pound Okam said. "I also am planning to get to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this next month or so.
"I really liked what I saw at both Texas and Texas A&M. They are both traditionally very good on defense. I enjoyed my time at the camps. I picked up a few things here and there."
While Okam is listing four schools he will, or has visited, he does not want to name a leader at this time.
"I'm just taking all of this in. There are so many schools that are recruiting me. I want to try and look at as many of them as I can and learn as much as I can about them. I've got lots of schools that have offered me scholarships and I don't want to close the door on anyone at this point."
Okam's performance to date in his high school career has landed him at the No. 20 spot in the Rivals100.
"It is quite an honor to be rated that high by people around the country," the five-star defensive tackle said. "To be one of the nation's top 20 players on anyone's rankings is quite an achievement."
Okam is looking for a school that will provide him with both academics and football.
"I want to get a good education. I also want to play at a school that will be playing in meaningful games in my career. I also would like the opportunity to get on the field early."
