Richardson (Texas) Lake Highlands defensive tackle Franklin Okam has two visits to take before he makes his collegiate choice.
“I am getting ready for my last two visits,” the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Okam said. “I go to Florida next weekend (Jan. 16) and then Oklahoma the following week (Jan. 23).”
Both schools are competing with Texas for the talents of the nation’s No. 2 rated defensive tackle.
“I don’t know that I’m really favoring anyone,” he said. “I’m looking hard at all three of them. I had a lot of schools to look at all the way along. I don’t want to put one ahead of the others until I’m done with the visits.”
Okam visited Texas the weekend of December 12.
“After my last two visits I’ll sit back and look at the three schools,” the five-star rated tackle said. “Then I’ll make my decision. Probably that last week before signing day is when I’ll make my choice known. I don’t want to rush the choice because of something I saw on a visit and make a quick choice.”
