Hudson, Ohio, two-way star Alex Gedeon has done his part. Now he just needs to college coaches to come knocking on his door.
The 6-foot-2, 208-pound safety/quarterback has put up big numbers this season. On the year, Hudson is 3-3, but he's done plenty of damage on both sides of the ball and seemingly has several schools interested in him.
"Each of the first three games I rushed for 150 and passed for 150," he said. "Then I threw for 320 in the fourth game, and then Solon held us in check. I had 150 yards and 75 yards rushing. But we got back on track more last week. I had about 230 yards and 50 yards rushing.
"We changed our offense quite a bit. I moved to quarterback, and I have the option to pass or run. Our receivers have been doing really well. I'm also starting at outside linebacker, and that's going well. I average about eight tackles a game, and I've got two forced fumbles."
At this point, Gedeon is still searching for his first Division I football offer. He does have offers from Princeton and Harvard for academics, but he'd like to give D-I football a serious look first.
"I'm talking all the time to Miami University, Syracuse and Ohio," Gedeon said. "I went to a Miami game this weekend, and I enjoyed it a lot. They upset Syracuse. I like the coaches, the atmosphere and they said they were going to check back with me about an offer.
"I'm being recruited by Craig Aukerman, and he's a great guy. He knows my coach pretty well, and he went to school with some of my teachers."
