Ohio TE has first offer

Sitting just outside of Columbus, Gahanna, Ohio, is home to one of the top up-and coming tight ends in the state of Ohio.
John Hughes, a 6-foot-2, 260-pounder from Lincoln High School, already has one scholarship offer on the table and after a strong showing two weeks ago at the Columbus NIKE Training Camp, more and more schools are showing interest.

"I think I did pretty well at the camp," Hughes, who ran a 4.8-second time in the 40-yard dash, said. "It was a hard time to get reps for the amount of players there, but I made the best of it."
At this point, Hughes has a scholarship offer from Akron. He's also getting pretty regular looks from Michigan State, Toledo, Ball State and Indiana.
"Brian Callahan from Akron is really cool," Hughes said. "It's a really nice school, and it has really nice, new facilities. I'm going to go up there and visit them over the summer."
The other schools on his list are also attractive.
"I went up to Michigan State during basketball season and watched them play Michigan," Hughes said. "They have a really good academic program. Toledo is known for really good tight ends, and that's what I want to play in college. They like to play their tight ends, and they know how to use them.
"I don't know much about Ball State quite yet, but the coaches up there contacted me. I will probably go visit this summer. Indiana is a really nice school. I don't know a lot about them yet, but will do some research on them."
This summer, Hughes will camp at Ohio State, Michigan State, Toledo and Akron. He hopes to continue to work hard this summer and get bigger, stronger and faster.
"I am a hard working," he said. "I get motivated easily, and I am a team player."
